The Kent State Golden Flashes and the Miami-OH RedHawks meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Millett Hall. Kent State sits at 11-9 on the year. The Flashes beat Bowling Green in their last outing. As for Miami-OH, they’re 9-10 so far and fresh off a loss to Eastern Michigan. Kent State managed a 7-8 run through their first 15 games, taking wins over Oberlin, James Madison, George Washington, Point Park, Detroit, Toledo and Ball State. Since then it’s been a 4-1 run with wins over Akron, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Bowling Green.

In the Bowling Green game, the Flashes were down 37-33 at halftime. Kent State surged from there on a 58-46 run for the 91-83 win. Tops in scoring was Sincere Carry with 30 points and seven assists. VonCameron Davis added 17 points and seven boards.

Over on the Miami-OH side, they posted a 7-5 record over their first dozen games before taking a postponement break at the beginning of the calendar year. The RedHawks have gone just 2-5 since then. They’ve fallen to Ball State and Eastern Michigan in the last pair.

In the Eastern Michigan game on Saturday, the RedHawks were blown out 55-28 in the first half. Miami-OH scored 47 more points from there but still lost 85-75. Isaiah Coleman-Lands led the team on 20 points, and Dae Dae Grant put up 13 points with seven boards.

The RedHawks are 0-4 ATS in their last four Tuesday games and 0-8 ATS in the last eight after an ATS loss. Miami-OH is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 overall.
Meanwhile, the Flashes are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall. Kent State is 2-6 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Kent State. The Flashes have certainly had their struggles this year, but over the last five games they’ve found some footing. Kent State has hit 75 or more points in consecutive games and should be able to put up a decent total here. Miami-OH can score when the matchup is right, so this one should finish on the higher side. I like Kent State to come away with the eventual cover (and maybe the win), though.
