Clemson Tigers
The Tigers opened up the year with a nice nine-game win streak. Those victories came versus Winthrop, UAB, Davidson, Boise State, Alcorn State, Alabama, Pittsburgh, South Carolina and TCU. After their lone loss versus Memphis on December 16, Clemson bounced back with wins over Queens and Radford.
Matched up against Radford on Friday, the Tigers didn’t have too many troubles. Clemson was ahead 49-23 by the break, then cruised on a 44-35 run the rest of the way for a 93-58 blowout victory. Topping the team was Joseph Girard on 24 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Miami Hurricanes
Over on the Miami side, they managed a 7-2 run over their first nine games with losses to only Kentucky and Colorado. The wins otherwise were versus NJIT, UCF, Florida International, Georgia, Kansas State, Notre Dame and Long Island. Since then it’s been three more wins over La Salle, Stonehill and North Florida.
In the North Florida game, the Hurricanes got themselves a blowout as well. Miami took a 42-27 edge into the second half, then scored 53 more points in a 95-55 victory. Leading scorer Norchad Omier put up a double-double on 27 points and 10 boards, as did Matthew Cleveland with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
ANDREW’S FREE CLEMSON VS MIAMI PREDICTION
I’ll try Miami in this one. You could make a case either way, though. We should have a pretty fun matchup here regardless. The Hurricanes made short work of North Florida in their last matchup, hitting 52.2 percent from the floor with a 50-31 rebounding edge. Miami has posted 84 or more points in all three games during this current win streak.
As for Clemson, they’ve been scoring well also with 72 or more points in all but one game this season. I like a high-scoring shootout in this one as well, with Miami eking out a cover/win. It’s probably a coin-flip proposition, though. It’ll be a great one to watch.
