The Louisville Cardinals and the Miami Hurricanes meet Wednesday in college basketball action from BankUnited Center. Louisville enters this one at 5-9 overall. The Cardinals have lost six of their last seven, most recently versus Pittsburgh. As for Miami, they’re coming off a loss to Wake Forest which dropped the Hurricanes to 11-3 so far. Let’s get into our Louisville vs. Miami prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals have had plenty of difficulties this year so far, and they’ve only been able to win consecutive games once. Louisville is just 1-6 in the last seven outings, with losses to Virginia Tech, DePaul, Arkansas State, Kentucky, Virginia and Pittsburgh around a win versus Pepperdine.

Back on Saturday versus Pittsburgh, the Cardinals were down 40-34 in the locker room. Things didn’t get any better from there on a 43-36 deficit in the second half as Louisville fell 83-70. Mike James led the team in the losing effort with his 23 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Miami Hurricanes

Over on the Hurricanes’ side, they only lost two of their first nine games this year. Those defeats came versus Kentucky and Colorado. Miami would then hit a four-game win streak over La Salle, Stonehill, North Florida and Clemson before another loss in OT versus Wake Forest.

Matched up against the Demon Deacons over the weekend, the Hurricanes scored 37 points in the first half, 36 in the second and hit a 13-9 deficit in the extra period for an 86-82 defeat. Kyshawn George topped the team on 21 points, and Norchad Omier doubled on 20 points and 13 boards.

ANDREW’S FREE LOUISVILLE VS MIAMI PREDICTION

I’m staying with Miami. The Hurricanes need a good bounce-back after a tough loss to Wake Forest, and this is a promising opportunity to get it. Miami didn’t shoot too badly versus the Deacons (42.3 percent) but did get out-rebounded 43-40 and gave up 12 turnovers (which led to 13 Wake Forest points). Still, the Hurricanes have hit 81 or more points in five straight games and should score pretty well on Wednesday.

As for Louisville, they’ve hit 70 or more points in three of their last four games and have a decent shot at reaching that total in this one. All things considered however, I like Miami to fend off the Cardinals for the eventual cover.
