The Virginia Cavaliers and the Michigan Wolverines meet in college basketball action from the Crisler Center on Tuesday night.

The Virginia Cavaliers will look to build on their 72-45 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore last time out. Armaan Franklin leads the Cavaliers in scoring with 13.8 PPG along with 4 RPG while Jayden Gardner has 11.4 PPG with 5 RPG. Kadin Shedrick has 11.2 PPG with a share of the team-high with 5.2 RPG. Reece Beekman has 10.6 PPG with a share of the team-high with 5.2 APG along with 3 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Virginia this season. Ben Vander Plas has 5.2 RPG of his own and Kihei Clark has 5.2 APG as well this season. As a team, Virginia is averaging 78 PPG on 49.8% shooting from the field, 44.8% from three and 73.8% from the foul line this season.

The Michigan Wolverines will try to build on their 78-68 win over Jackson State last time out. Hunter Dickinson leads the Wolverines in scoring and rebounding with 18.5 PPG and 9.5 RPG while Jett Howard has 15.2 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Michigan so far this season. Kobe Bufkin’s also chipping in 9.2 PPG with 4.2 RPG and a team-high 3 APG to lead the Wolverines in the assist department up to this point in the year. As a team, Michigan is averaging 77.3 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 66.9% from the foul line this season.

Virginia is 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS loss and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games following a win by 20 or more points while the over is 10-2-1 in their last 13 road games. Michigan is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a win while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t the slightest bit tempted at getting points with Michigan at home. The problem is that Virginia’s earned the respect of laying points on the road in this situation as the Cavaliers have ultimately looked better up to this point against a much tougher schedule. Virginia looks like they’re on a mission after being snubbed from the tournament last year. Give me the Cavaliers on the road here.
