Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview
The Badgers logged 14 wins over their first 19 games out of the gate, then posted an even stretch over the next four with losses to USC and Indiana. A 3-2 record came after that with wins over Illinois, Michigan State and Iowa among losses to Ohio State and Oregon. It’s been all victories over the last five, as the Badgers have taken out Washington, Maryland, Purdue, Washington again and Illinois for a 24-9 record this year.
On Friday in the tournament matchup versus Illinois, the Badgers were sitting in the locker room with a 36-30 deficit. Wisconsin fought back late in the game on a 48-42 run and forced overtime. After the extra period, the Badgers had a comeback victory 91-88 to keep things going. Wisconsin’s Nicholas Boyd finished with 38 pitons and six assists alongside five rebounds while John Blackwell added 31 points with six rebounds.
Michigan Wolverines Betting Preview
Over on the Michigan side, they opened with a 14-game win streak this year ahead of a loss to Wisconsin on January 10. After another loss to Duke came wins over Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State and Ohio State for the Wolverines.
Matched up against the Buckeyes in their Friday tournament game, Michigan came back out onto the floor after halftime with a 39-35 edge. The Wolverines kept the pace going on a 32-32 run the rest of the way and ended up with a 71-67 win in the end to move on. Michigan vs Wisconsin Prediction
I’ll stay with the Wolverines. Michigan put together a nice effort in their win Friday over a good Ohio State team, eventually shooting 45.3 percent from the field while holding the Buckeyes to just 37.9 percent on defense. Michigan had a 34-28 edge on points in the paint and bagged 19 points off 10 Ohio State turnovers. The Wolverines are 16-1 in their last 17 games and playing great basketball right now. Over this current five-game win streak, Michigan has posted at least 71 points in every outing.
These teams last met way back on January 10 in a tough 91-88 home loss for Michigan. In that one the Wolverines shot a nice 46.8 percent from the field and 91.7 percent (22-of-24) from the line. Michigan had a 38-26 advantage in the paint and just nine turnovers. Trouble is, the Wolverines also gave up 50 percent shooting from the field on defense and 45.5 percent (15-of-33) from outside. Wisconsin will come into this one with a ton of confidence, so Michigan needs to set the tone early. Should be a fun matchup to watch.
