The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and the Minnesota Golden Gophers meet Sunday in college basketball action from Williams Arena. Here’s a Minnesota vs Bethune-Cookman prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Minnesota vs Bethune-Cookman pick.
Bethune-Cookman Wildcats Betting Preview
The Wildcats’ season got kicked off with three straight losses to Texas Tech, Nebraska and Fort Wayne. Bethune-Cookman has since gone 2-2 with wins over South Carolina State and North Dakota among losses to Tulane and Gardner-Webb.
In the Gardner-Webb matchup on Wednesday, the Wildcats came out of the break with a 43-28 deficit. Bethune-Cookman kept the pace from there in a 79-64 defeat. Reggie Ward doubled up on 14 points and 11 boards, while Daniel Rouzan had 14 points in the losing effort.

Over on the Minnesota side, they beat Oral Roberts and Omaha in their first pair before a loss to North Texas. The Gophers would then beat Yale, Cleveland State and Central Michigan before two losses to Wichita State and Wake Forest.
On Friday versus Wake Forest, the Gophers had a two-point lead at the break. Minnesota was outscored by eight from there and lost 57-51, however. Lu’Cye Patterson topped the team with 12 points and four assists in the defeat.

Minnesota vs Bethune-Cookman Prediction
I’ll likely stay with the Gophers. Minnesota has a couple of close losses in their last two games but they were able to hang with a pretty good Wake Forest team for most of Friday’s outing. The Gophers’ big disparity in that one was a 42-27 rebounding deficit (13-8 offensive), along with a 3-of-18 (16.7 percent) success rate from 3-point range. Minnesota has been below 69 points in seven straight games; they’ve got to rely on defense to be successful these days.
As for B-CU, they’re not blowing scoreboards down this year either with fewer than 70 points in five of seven outings. That said, the Wildcats have had some tough matchups so far. All things considered though, Minnesota should be able to keep Bethune-Cookman in check well enough to control the pace. It’d be nice to see a few more of the Gophers’ shots go down, though.
