The Texas A&M-CC Islanders and the Minnesota Golden Gophers meet in college basketball action from Williams Arena on Tuesday night.

The Texas A&M-CC Islanders come into this game looking to add to an 87-73 win over Omaha in their last game. Isaac Mushila leads the Islanders in scoring and rebounding, logging 15.3 PPG and 9.1 RPG while Trevian Tennyson has 10.6 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for the Islanders up to this point in the season. Simeon Pryor has 9.9 PPG and Myles Smith has 9.3 PPG while Terrion Murdix has a team-high 4 APG this season. As a team, Texas A&M-CC is averaging 82.2 PPG on 48.4% shooting from the field, 33.3% from three and 71.9% from the foul line while allowing 68.6 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field and 30.8% from three this season.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers will look to build on their 75-65 win over Michigan last time out. Jamison Battle leads the Gophers in scoring and rebounding with 18.8 PPG and 6.4 RPG while Payton Willis has 16.4 PPG, 4.8 RPG and a team-high 3.6 APG this season. E.J. Stephens has 10.9 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Gophers up to this point in the year while Sean Sutherlin and Eric Curry each have 8.1 PPG as well this season. As a team, Minnesota is averaging 71.2 PPG on 45.5% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three point range and 70.1% from the foul line while allowing 63 PPG on 41% shooting from the field and 25.3% from three this season.

Both teams come into this one 9-1, but that’s about where the similarities end. Outside of the season-opening cover against Texas A&M, the Islanders haven’t really played anyone of note, including a couple of subdivision games in the middle of that run. Minnesota’s had games against Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State and Western Kentucky to name a few and while this is a sizeable number, I think Minnesota at home does enough to get the job done so I’ll lay it and play it with Minnesota here.
