Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks got off to a decent 9-4 start over their first 13 games, but it’s been a rough ride since then. Arkansas is just 3-8 in their last 11, falling to Auburn, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Kentucky, LSU and Tennessee (with wins over Texas A&M, Missouri and Georgia otherwise).

In their latest matchup versus Tennessee on Wednesday, the Razorbacks were able to stay within six points in the first half. Arkansas was drilled 46-23 from there however and lost big 92-63 in the end. Tramon Mark was the only double-digit scorer on 12 points with three steals.

Mississippi State Bulldogs

Over on the Bulldogs’ side, they got off to a solid start as well, going 11-2 to begin the year. Mississippi State is a shaky 5-6 since then, falling to South Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama with wins over Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Georgia and Missouri otherwise.

In last weekend’s game versus Missouri, the Bulldogs were up 30-26 in the locker room. Mississippi State kept it rolling in the second half with a 45-25 run and powered out the blowout win 75-51. Josh Hubbard topped the team with his 16 points and three rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE ARKANSAS VS MISSISSIPPI STATE PREDICTION

I’ll go with Mississippi State here. This should be a pretty good matchup, though. The Bulldogs didn’t have too many issues with Missouri in their last game and eventually shot a nice 47.5 percent from the field with 39 rebounds. The 14 points off 20 Tigers turnovers didn’t hurt, either. Mississippi State has now scored a combined 150 points in the past two outings.

As for Arkansas, they haven’t been scoring too badly themselves with 74 or more options in three of the last four (a 2-2 run). The Razorbacks are giving up a healthy amount of points on the other side to good offenses though, so Mississippi State should have some opportunities in this one.
