Missouri vs Mississippi State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/21/23

The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Missouri Tigers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Mizzou Arena. Mississippi State is currently 18-9 overall this year. The Bulldogs beat Ole Miss in their last game. As for Missouri, they’re sitting at 19-8 following a loss to Texas A&M on Saturday. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Mississippi State had some hits and misses during their first 20 games, ultimately carving out a 12-8 record. The Bulldogs are 6-1 since then with wins over TCU, South Carolina, Missouri, LSU, Arkansas and Ole Miss in that time. 

In the Ole Miss game on Saturday, the Bulldogs scored 32 points in the first half, 24 in the second and 13 in overtime during a 69-61 victory. Cameron Matthews scored 17 points, and Tolu Smith doubled on 17 points and 12 rebounds. 

Missouri Tigers

Over on the Missouri side, they had a pretty decent 15-5 record though their first 20 games this year. The Tigers are 4-3 since then with wins over Iowa State, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee alongside losses to Mississippi State, Auburn and Texas A&M. 

Matched up against Texas A&M on Saturday, the Tigers took a 39-25 deficit into the second half. Missouri outscored the Aggies 35-30 from there but still lost 69-60. Kobe Brown was the team’s top scorer on 24 points and six rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably go with Mississippi State in this one. The Bulldogs are looking pretty good during this 6-1 stretch; the only blemish was a three-point loss to Kentucky. Mississippi State has scored 68 points or more in three straight games and it’ll be important to get off to a quick start in this one as well. In the last meeting between these teams on February 4 at Humphrey Coliseum, the Bulldogs secured a 63-52 win thanks to a 33-27 first half. This one’s probably going to be pretty close but I like Mississippi State cover/win-wise in the rematch as well.
