The Ole Miss Rebels and the Missouri Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Mizzou Arena. Ole Miss lost to Alabama in their last game, dropping the Tigers to 19-9 so far. As for Missouri, they’re 8-20 this year after a loss to Florida. Let’s get into our Ole Miss vs. Missouri prediction. Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels managed a nice 18-3 run over their first 21 games. The only losses came versus Tennessee, LSU and Auburn. Ole Miss is 1-6 since then with losses to Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Alabama (with a lone win over Missouri).

In their latest outing on Wednesday versus Alabama, Ole Miss held a slim 42-39 edge by halftime. The Rebels were drilled 64-46 in the second half however and lost 103-88. Allen Flanigan came off the bench to lead the team on 28 points with six rebounds.

Missouri Tigers

Over on the Missouri side, their year began on an 8-5 run but it’s been a rough 15-game losing streak since. Those losses were versus Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas and Florida.

Matched up against Florida on Wednesday, the Tigers trailed 37-28 in the locker room. Missouri kept the pace from there on 46 more points but still lost 83-74 in the end. Tops in scoring was Sean East with his 20 points, four assists and four rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE OLE MISS VS MISSOURI PREDICTION

I’ll take a stab on Missouri. Probably not touching this one though. The Tigers didn’t rebound very well (a 38-27 deficit) in their latest loss to Florida. That said, Missouri didn’t play horribly outside of the 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from 3-point range and the 49.2 percent shooting allowed. The Tigers have scored 73 or more points in three of the last four games, so that’s something of a good sign at least.

One of those games was a 79-75 road loss versus Ole Miss back on February 17. Missouri didn’t rebound especially well in that one either (35-27), which was a big factor in the defeat. If the Tigers can rally on the boards a bit in the home rematch, I could see a cover/win here.
