Montana State vs Northern Colorado Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/4/23

The Northern Colorado Bears and the Montana State Bobcats meet Saturday in college basketball action from Worthington Arena. Northern Colorado faced off against Montana in their last matchup on Thursday. In that one the Bears fell by two points. As for Montana State, they played Northern Arizona in their Thursday matchup. Northern Colorado Bears 

Northern Colorado started the year on a rough run, winning just five of their first 16 games. The Bears didn’t get much better over the next five outings, going 2-3 with losses to Sacramento State, Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona. 

In the Montana matchup on Thursday, the Bears were down 36-33 by halftime. Northern Colorado hit a 34-33 advantage in the second half but ended up falling 69-67. Daylen Kountz was the lead scorer on 18 points. 

Montana State Bobcats 

Over on the Montana State side, they were 9-7 over their first 16 games this year. The Bobcats hit a nice 6-1 run in the next seven with wins over Northern Arizona, Idaho State, Weber State, Montana, Portland State and Sacramento State. 

On Thursday versus Northern Arizona, Montana State took a three-point deficit into the locker room. The Bobcats fought back on a 39-35 second-half run and got the comeback win 69-68. Trenton McLaughlin was tops on 19 points and five rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m going to stick with Montana State. The last time these teams met up back on January 5, the Bobcats took a 77-56 road win at Bank of Colorado Arena. Montana State is on a nice roll right now; they’ve won eight of their last nine games. As for Northern Colorado, they’re just 2-10 in the last dozen outings. The Bears are still scoring reasonably well though, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a fairly high total in this one. I still think Montana State covers in the end, though.
