The Hartford Hawks and the Morgan State Bears meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Hill Field House. Hartford is currently 4-15 on the year. The Hawks lost to UMBC in their last game. Hartford Hawks
Hartford managed to go 4-8 over their first 12 games, beating Lyndon State, FDU-Florham, Houghton and FDU. The Hawks have since lost to Saint Peter’s, St. Francis BK (twice), San Francisco, Morgan State, Sacred Heart and UMBC.
In the UMBC matchup on Monday, the Hawks were down 46-23 by halftime. Hartford didn’t end up getting any closer and fell 87-62. Briggs McClain was the leading scorer on 20 points, and Michael Dunne put up 18 points.
Morgan State Bears
Over on the Morgan State side, they were 6-8 to start out the year, beating Penn State Greater Allegheny, Utah Valley, VA Lynchburg, PSU Wilkes-Barre, Hartford and Goucher. The Bears have since beaten NC Central, SC State and Coppin State.
In the Coppin State game back on Saturday, the Bears were up 45-36 going into the second half. Morgan State hit a 38-30 run from there and won it 83-66. Isaiah Burke posted 30 points and Malik Miller added 16 points with 19 boards.

I’ll probably stick with Morgan State here. The line’s a little too thick to mess with, though. The Bears are currently riding a five-game win streak, hitting 78 or more points in each of their last four outings. Morgan State managed a 61-54 victory the last time these teams met up back on December 30, and they should be comfortable in this one as well. If Morgan State gets going on offense I don’t see Hartford keeping a cover pace.
