Morgan State vs Howard Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/20/23

The Howard Bison and the Morgan State Bears meet Monday in college basketball action from Hill Field House. Howard is coming off a Saturday game versus Coppin State. The Bison ended up winning that one by 10 points. As for Morgan State, they played Norfolk State in their last appearance. In that one the Bears fell in blowout fashion. Howard Bison 

Howard managed to go a sketchy 8-10 over their first 18 games this year. The Bison hit a nice win streak after that, taking out Norfolk State, Morehouse, Morgan State, Coppin State, NC Central, South Carolina State, Delaware State and MD Eastern Shore in the next eight. 

On Saturday versus Coppin State, the Bison were up 37-33 going into the break. Howard hit a 43-37 run in the second half and won it 80-70. Elijah Hawkins was the top team scorer with 20 points and nine assists. 

Morgan State Bears

Over on the Morgan State side, they posted a 10-8 run over their first 18 outings. The Bears went just 2-5 over the next seven games however, losing to Howard, Delaware State, MD Eastern Shore, NC Central and South Carolina State in that time. 

In the Norfolk State rematch on Saturday, the Bears were down 35-20 going into the second half. Morgan State didn’t get any closer on a 37-30 halftime deficit and lost 72-50. Will Thomas was the high man on 14 points and five rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably lean toward Howard here. The Bison are on a great run during this nine-game win streak, and they’re scoring well with 71 or more points in 12 straight outings. These teams have already seen each other back on January 21 in a Howard victory 88-56 at Burr Gymnasium. Morgan State has been at 63 or fewer points in three straight games and I don’t see them getting all that close in this rematch either. Should be Howard’s cover if they play well.
