The North Carolina Central Eagles and the Morgan State Bears meet Monday in college basketball action from Hill Field House in Baltimore. Here’s a Morgan State vs North Carolina Central Prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Morgan State vs NC Central pick.
North Carolina Central Betting Preview
NC Central could only manage five wins in their first 16 games of the year. Those were versus Bluefield State, Toccoa Falls, Carolina U, Mid-Atlantic Christian and Norfolk State. Otherwise the defeats came against NC State, Virginia, App State, UNC, Dayton, USC Upstate, James Madison, North Carolina A&T, Kentucky, Longwood and Penn State. A 5-11 record is all the Eagles could manage during that time.
On Saturday versus Coppin State, NC Central was down 45-31 by the end of the first half. NC Central posted a nice 57-32 run the rest of the way however, leading to an 88-77 comeback win in the end. The leading scorer on the team was Jae Slack with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists. Gage Lattimore added 16 points with four rebounds and three assists over 33 minutes of work.
Morgan State Bears Betting Preview
Over on the Bears’ side, they only managed to win two of their first 13 games. The defeats in that time were versus Georgetown, UMBC, Mercyhurst, North Carolina A&T, Old Dominion, Drexel, Longwood, DePaul, Cal, San Francisco and Loyola Marymount in succession. Another win came versus Penn State Brandywine, then Morgan State fell again to Maryland Eastern Shore. That would make a 3-12 in the first 15 games of the year.
Matched up against South Carolina State over the weekend, the Bears faced a 34-32 deficit by the end of the first half. Morgan State hit a 40-33 run in the second however, powering out an eventual 72-67 win. Elijah Davis was the team’ leading scorer on 18 points with six assists and three rebounds. Rob Lawson was right there as well with 17 points, four assists and three rebounds in the win.

Morgan State vs North Carolina Central Prediction
I’ll stick with Morgan State. Probably not touching this one, though. The Bears pulled off a nice home win over South Carolina State in their last outing, notching 45.5 percent shooting with just eight turnovers. Morgan State was out-rebounded 33-24 however, and hit a tepid 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) from the line during the victory. That gives the Bears a 2-1 run over their last three games, and they’ve scored 72 or more points in each of those wins. Morgan State generally isn’t a great scoring team so far this year, though.
As for NC Central, they shot a nice 50 percent from the field with 12-of-20 (60 percent) from outside in their win over Coppin State last week. The Eagles were competitive on the boards and in the paint but also gave up 51.9 percent shooting on defense. NC Central has won consecutive games now, and they’ve got 67 or more points in six straight outings. We should have a pretty competitive outing on our hands Monday.
