As for Navy, they’re 5-2 and took out Mount St. Mary’s in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
William & Mary got off to a six-game losing streak to start out the season. The Tribe lost to Wake Forest, American, Norfolk State, Georgia State, Howard and Radford before finally bagging a win over Mary Baldwin.
The Tribe didn’t have much trouble in the Mary Baldwin game, holding the opposition to just 18 second-half points in an 87-50 win. Lead scorer Ben Wight posted 20 points with seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
Over on the Navy side, they got off to a 1-2 start with losses to Virginia Tech and Louisville (with a win over Virginia). Since then the Midshipmen have won four straight over Radford, Furman, WCMD and Mount St. Mary’s.
In the victory over Mount St. Mary’s, Navy was up 33-18 at halftime and cruised from there toward a 67-40 result. John Carter led the team with 18 points, four rebounds and two steals. Greg Summers added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Navy is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 at home and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 after an ATS win. The Midshipmen are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Tribe are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games and 0-6 ATS in their last six overall. William & Mary is 1-5 ATS in their last five Wednesday games.
PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Navy. The Midshipmen have been on a nice run over the last four games, and their last win was a good one. Navy shot 45.5 percent versus Mount St. Mary’s (who shot 23.4 percent), along with 39 rebounds and 15 team assists.
As for the Tribe, they’ve had some issues scoring so far this year, and have hit 62 points or fewer in four of seven outings. I don’t see William & Mary posting enough offense to keep up in this one.
