The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks and the North Carolina State Wolfpack meet Tuesday in college basketball action from PNC Arena. TN-Martin enters this one at 6-4 on the year after a win over Ecclesia on Sunday. As for NC State, they’re sitting at 6-2 so far and coming off a blowout win over Maryland-Eastern Shore. TN-Martin Skyhawks 

The Skyhawks only lost two of their first seven games this year, falling to Mississippi State and Prairie View A&M during that stretch. Tennessee-Martin would follow that up with consecutive losses though, dropping to Rice and McNeese State. In the loss to the Cowboys, the Skyhawks gave up 51.5 percent shooting from the field. 

Tennessee-Martin got back into the win column in a big way during their last matchup versus an overmatched Ecclesia team. The Skyhawks scored 52 points in the first half and 58 more from there in a 110-52 blowout result. TN-Martin’s Jalen Myers paced the team off the bench with 21 points.

NC State Wolfpack

Over on the Wolfpack’s side, they won their first four games of the season versus the Citadel, Abilene Christian, Charleston Southern and Vanderbilt, Consecuitve losses to BYU and Ole Miss followed before another victory in OT versus Boston College. NC State posted a 43-39 rebounding advantage in the win over the Eagles. 

NC State bagged another win in their last matchup versus Maryland-Eastern Shore, and this one wasn’t close. The Wolfpack were up 37-25 by halftime and added another 56 points from there in a 93-61 result. Jayden Taylor paced the team in scoring with 21 points, four rebounds and two assists. NC State is 6-2 in the ACC with the same number of wins as Duke. 

ANDREW’S FREE TN-MARTIN VS NC STATE PREDICTION 

I’ll stick with NC State. The Wolfpack didn’t have too many issues in their last matchup versus MD-Eastern Shore, hitting 59.3 percent from the field with a 38-29 rebounding edge. North Carolina State has scored 72 or more points in all but one game so far this year and shouldn’t have too many issues hanging points on the Skyhawks. 

Speaking of TN-Martin, they’ve given up 71 or more points in four of the last five games. The Skyhawks have scored pretty well themselves in that time, but they haven’t seen a team of NC State’s caliber in those matchups either. The Wolfpack should dominate this one if they play well.
