The Grand Canyon Antelopes and the Nevada Wolf Pack meet in college basketball action from the Lawlor Events Center on Tuesday night.

The Grand Canyon Antelopes come into this game on the heels of a 49-48 win over San Francisco last time out. Jovan Blacksher Jr. leads GCU in scoring and assists with 16.5 PPG and 3.9 APG while Holland Woods has 13.3 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Grand Canyon up to this point in the season. Gabe McGlothan also has 9.7 PPG with a team-high 7 RPG to lead Grand Canyon on the glass this season. As a team, Grand Canyon is averaging 72.3 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field, 35.6% from three and 64.4% from the foul line while allowing 57.8 PPG on 37% shooting from the field and 26.2% from three this season.

The Nevada Wolf Pack will be out to add to their current five-game winning streak after a 68-63 win over Loyola Marymount last time out. Grant Sherfield leads the Wolf Pack in scoring and assists with 20 PPG and 6.5 APG while Desmond Cambridge has 17.5 PPG with 4.6 RPG and 2.4 APG. Will Baker has 12.2 PPG with 4.7 RPG and Warren Washington has 11.8 PPG with 6.9 RPG to lead the Wolf Pack on the glass this season. AJ Bramah has 10.8 PPG and 6.5 RPG in 4 games for Nevada this season to round out the scoring in double figures for the Wolf Pack so far this season. As a team, Nevada is averaging 79.2 PPG on 45.4% shooting from the field, 35.1% from three and 78.3% from the foul line while allowing 74.4 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field and 33.8% from three this season.

I get the case that could be made for Nevada at home here, but I’m still a bit hesitant to back the Wolf Pack as I haven’t forgotten Nevada’s struggles to start the year. Grand Canyon is a team that continues to be underappreciated by oddsmakers, but I’m not complaining because it continues to give us advantageous numbers with the Antelopes. I think this is a spot to side with Grand Canyon in another close affair and in a game that the Antelopes have a shot at winning outright. Give me GCU and the points.
