The Hartford Hawks and the New Hampshire Wildcats meet in college basketball action from the Lundholm Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

The Hartford Hawks will look to add on back-to-back wins after a 78-66 win over Maine last time out. Austin Williams leads the Hawks in scoring and assists with 15.9 PPG and 3 APG while Hunter Marks has 12.6 PPG with 4.7 RPG and Moses Flowers has 13.4 PPG with a team-high 7.2 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Hartford so far this season as the Hawks’ leading rebounder. As a team, Hartford is averaging 69.4 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field, 35.4% from three and 67.8% from the foul line while allowing 73.4 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field and 35.3% from three-point range this season.

The New Hampshire Wildcats will try to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 9 games following a 76-69 loss to Stony Brook last time out. Jayden Martinez leads the Wildcats in scoring with 13.9 PPG in addition to 6.3 RPG while Nick Guadarrama has 13.5 PPG with 4.8 RPG and 2.7 APG and Blondeau Tchoukulegno has 11.4 PPG with 4.9 RPG and a team-high 4.1 APG to lead the Wildcats in the assist department and to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for UNH so far this season. As a team, New Hampshire is averaging 70.1 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field, 37.5% from three and 68.1% from the foul line while allowing 65.1 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field and 34.1% from three this season.

Hartford is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a win and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. New Hampshire is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400.

I get the case to be made for New Hampshire laying the points because they’re at home, but they’re inconsistent in terms of wins and losses and the only thing they are doing consistently is failing to cover the spread. Hartford battles game in and game out, have covered 5 of their last 6 overall and beat New Hampshire by double-digits a couple of weeks ago. Could be a revenge spot, but I think the value is with Hartford and  the points here.
