The NJIT Highlanders will travel to Lundholm Gymnasium to take on the New Hampshire Wildcats this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The NJIT Highlanders snapped their 7-game losing streak and improved to 9-12 on the season after defeating the Stony Brook Seawolves, 65-62, this past Saturday. NJIT was solid on the defensive end against Stony Brooks and was able to pull off a dramatic victory after Miles Coleman hit a game-winning three-pointer with :02 seconds left in regulation. NJIT shot 42.1% from the field & 36.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Stony Brook to shoot 39.0% from the field & 22.2% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Highlanders was Miles Coleman who had 16 points, 5 rebounds, & 1 assist.

On the season, NJIT is averaging 64.4 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field. The Highlanders are averaging 6.7 three-pointers per game on 33.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, NJIT has been led by Miles Coleman (15.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.3 spg), Dylan O’Hearn (13.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.6 apg), James Lee (7.9 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.9 spg), & Antwuan Butler (7.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, NJIT is allowing their opponents to average 68.5 ppg on 41.9% shooting from the field. The Highlanders have a rebound margin of -1.9 and a turnover margin of -0.7.

The New Hampshire Wildcats improved to 10-9 on the season after defeating the Stony Brook Seawolves, 67-65, this past Monday night. New Hampshire led by a 34-29 margin at halftime and was able to pull off the much-needed road victory after Jayden Martinez was able to hit a game winning layup as time expired. New Hampshire shot 44.6% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Stony Brook to shoot 38.2% from the field & 16.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Qon Murphy who had 26 points & 9 rebounds in 31 minutes from off the bench.

On the season, New Hampshire is averaging 70.5 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 8.9 three-pointers per game on 37.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, New Hampshire has been led by Jayden Martinez (14.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.5 apg), Nick Guadarrama (13.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.6 apg), Blondeau Tchoukuiegno (11.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.3 spg), & Nick Johnson (7.9 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.3 spg).

Defensively, New Hampshire is allowing their opponents to average 66.3 ppg on 43.5% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 4.4 and a turnover margin of 0.8.

The Highlanders are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Wildcats are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win & 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

NJIT was able to pick up a much-needed win over Stony Brook, however, this is still a team that lost their previous two games against Albany & Vermont by an average of 17.0 ppg and currently rank just 315th in scoring offense & 304th in FG%. New Hampshire as alternated wins & losses over their last 12 games, however, this is still one of the better teams in the American East and had competitive losses at Marquette & Providence early in the season. New Hampshire has been solid defensively this season, ranking 99th in scoring defense & 62nd in rebound margin, and as I think the Wildcats have plenty of success keeping NJIT off the scoreboard, I think the Wildcats do enough to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
