The Kent State Golden Flashes and the New Mexico State Aggies meet in college basketball action from the Don Haskins Center on Wednesday night.

The Kent State Golden Flashes will look to build on a 106-56 win over subdivision Concord College in their last game. Sincere Carry leads the Golden Flashes in scoring and assists with 17.5 PPG and 5.4 APG while Malique Jacobs has 13.1 PPG with 2.8 APG and Miryne Thomas has 11.4 PPG with 5.3 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Kent State up to this point in the season. Cli’Ron Hornbeak has a team-high 6.6 RPG to lead Kent State on the glass this season. As a team, Kent State is averaging 77.5 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field, 36.2% from three and 75.8% from the foul line this season.

The New Mexico State Aggies will be looking to build on their 95-53 win over subdivision Northern New Mexico last time out. Deshawndre Washington lead the Aggies across the board in scoring, rebounding and assists this season, putting up 13.5 PPG, 7.8 RPG and 5.1 APG while Xavier Pinson has 12.2 PPG with 3.5 RPG and 4.6 APG. Issa Muhammad has 10.9 PPG with 4.2 RPG and Anthony Roy has 10.7 PPG to finish off the scoring in double figures for New Mexico State so far this season. As a team, New Mexico State is averaging 79.6 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field, 35.8% from three and 68.7% from the foul line this season.

Kent State is 22-5-1 ATS in their last 28 games overall and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 7-1-2 in their last 10 games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. New Mexico State is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games while the over is 10-2 in their last 12 neutral site games.

This is going to be an awesome game between two teams that have been flying under the radar but teams that we may have to watch out for come tournament time. That being said, these two teams are on a similar level on offense, but on the defensive end of the floor, the Golden Flashes hold a sizeable advantage and I just think those extra stops will end up being the difference in this one. I’ll side with Kent State laying the points in this game.
