The Boise State Broncos will travel to The Pit to take on the New Mexico Lobos this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Boise State Broncos won their 8th straight game and improved to 11-4 on the season after defeating the Nevada Wolf Pack, 85-70, this past Wednesday night. Boise State was outstanding offensively against Nevada and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 41-27 lead. Boise State shot 50.0% from the field & 34.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Nevada to shoot 40.7% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Broncos was Marcus Shaver Jr. who had 28 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Boise State is averaging 70.1 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Broncos are averaging 7.5 three-pointers per game on 34.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Defensviely, Boise State is holding their opponents to an average of 59.0 ppg on 39.8% shooting from the field. The Broncos have a rebound margin of 7.5 and a turnover margin of 0.5.

The New Mexico Lobos lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 7-9 on the season after being defeated by the UNLV Rebels, 85-56, this past Tuesday. New Mexico struggled on both ends of the court and could not fight back after UNLV took a 60-42 lead with 10:15 left in regulation. New Mexico shot 34.5% from the field & 22.6% from beyond the arc while allowing UNLV to shoot 45.2% from the field 7 28.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Lobos was KJ Jenkins who had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, & 1 steal in 31 minutes from off the bench.

On the season, New Mexico is averaging 77.9 ppg on 42.6% shooting from the field. The Lobos are averaging 8.2 three-pointers per game on 33.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Defensively, New Mexico is allowing their opponents to average 78.4 ppg on 44.9% shooting from the field. The Lobos have a rebound margin of -4.1 and a turnover margin of 1.8.

The Broncos are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. New Mexico. The Lobos are 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games, however, are just 1-5 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. Boise State.

Boise State has been led by their defense this season which ranks 16th in scoring defense, 50th in defensive FG%, & 25th in rebound margin, and despite ranking just 226th in scoring offense, the Broncos have been decent in terms of their shooting percentage as they come into this game ranked t-142nd in FG% & 154th in 3P-FG%. New Mexico is led by their offense which ranks 56th in scoring offense, however, the Lobos have been awful defensively this season as they rank just 332nd in scoring defense, 280th in defensive FG%, & 312th in rebound margin.

New Mexico looked awful against UNLV and it’s hard to imagine it’s going to get much better against a Boise State team that has top-25 talent and have been great defensively this season. Boise State has a winning road record and as the Broncos should have no trouble scoring against a Lobos defense that is statically one of the worst in College Basketball, I think Boise State does enough to cover this large road spread. Good Luck!
