The Colorado State Rams and the New Mexico Lobos meet in college basketball action from the Pit on Wednesday night.

The Colorado State Rams will look to bounce back from a 73-64 loss to USC last time out. John Tonje has 14.2 PPG and 5.2 RPG this season. Isaiah Stevens has 18.3 PPG in his six games so far as well as 5.8 APG while Isaiah Rivera has 10.9 PPG with 3.4 RPG and Patrick Cartier has 11.9 PPG with 2.7 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Colorado State this season while Taviontae Jackson has 4 APG to lead the Rams in assists. As a team, Colorado State is averaging 76.2 PPG on 50.3% shooting from the field, 37.8% from three and 71.3% from the foul line this season.

The New Mexico Lobos will be out to stay unbeaten after a 94-63 win over Prairie View A&M in their last game. Morris Udeze leads the Lobos in scoring with 17.5 PPG along with 7.3 RPG while Jamal Mashburn Jr. has 16.8 PPG with 3.3 RPG and Jaelen House has 16.4 PPG with 3.6 RPG and a team-high 5.3 APG to lead the Lobos in the assist department and to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for New Mexico this season. Josiah Allick also has a team-high 8.2 RPG to lead New Mexico on the glass this season. As a team, New Mexico is averaging 84.5 PPG on 49.2% shooting from the field, 33% from three and 73.6% from the foul line this season.

Colorado State is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 road games. New Mexico is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 home games against a team with a losing road record.

I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I like the Lobos here. Colorado State is a solid team from top to bottom and they’ve done a good job retooling after losing some key talent from year-to-year. However, this New Mexico team is arguably the best in the Mountain West right now and I don’t see the Rams having enough to stop the high-octane attack of the Lobos here so give me New Mexico in this one.
