Nevada Wolf Pack

Nevada went 13-3 over their first 16 games, losing to only Kansas State, LMU and Oregon. The Wolf Pack have since gone 5-3 with wins over San Jose State, Utah State, New Mexico, San Diego State and Air Force.

In the Air Force game back on Friday, the Wolf Pack were up 31-28 going into the second half. Nevada hit a 41-24 run from there and won the game 72-52. Jarod Lucas was tops with 19 points and five rebounds in the victory.

New Mexico Lobos

Over on the New Mexico side, they won their first 14 games of the season before taking consecutive losses to Fresno State and UNLV. The Lobos are 5-2 in their last seven with victories versus Oral Roberts, San Diego State, San Jose State, Boise State and Air Force.

Matched up against Utah State back on Wednesday, the Lobos were outscored 46-27 in the first half. New Mexico made a run at it with a 46-38 second but lost 84-73. Jamal Marshburn Jr. was tops in scoring with 17 points and three rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably stick with New Mexico in this one. You could make a case either way, though; this is one of the more intriguing matchups on the Tuesday college basketball slate and should be a very competitive game. In any case, New Mexico took a 97-94 double-overtime loss the last time these teams met back on January 23 at Lawlor Events Center. The Lobos have had their ups and downs in the two games since, however they should be able to post a solid points total here. As for Nevada, they’ve got 147 combined points over their last two games and are looking pretty good lately. This will be a great matchup to watch and it should be a close one.

Andrew's Free Pick: New Mexico Lobos -2.5
