The Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks and the North Carolina Central Eagles meet Wednesday in MEAC Tournament college basketball action from Norfolk Scope. Let’s get into our MD-Eastern Shore vs. NC Central prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

MD-Eastern Shore Hawks

Maryland-Eastern Shore was only able to win five of their first 19 games this year. The Hawks would hit a solid 3-1 run in February (with a lone loss to Morgan State) but then lost four straight. Those losses came versus NC Central, South Carolina State, Howard and Norfolk State.

The Hawks were able to get back into the win column in their last matchup Thursday versus Delaware State. MD-Eastern Shore trailed by one point going into the second half, then hit a 39-30 run for a 67-59 result. Toby Nnadozie and Kelechi Okworogwo each scored 17 points in the victory.

NC Central Eagles

Over on the Eagles’ side, they started out the season on a 13-89 run before losses to Morgan State, Howard and Norfolk State in February. Since then it’s been a 4-1 stretch with wins over MD-Eastern Shore, Delaware State, Coppin State and South Carolina State in that time.

Last Thursday in the South Carolina State game, the Eagles came out of the break with a 38-33 edge. NC Central hit a 41-35 run the rest of the way for a 79-68 victory in the end. Keishon Porter was the team’s top scorer with his 37 points, five rebounds and one steal.

ANDREW’S FREE MD-EASTERN SHORE VS NC CENTRAL PREDICTION

I’ll stick with the Eagles. NC Central had a solid offensive game versus South Carolina State in their last outing. The Eagles shot 56.3 percent from the field in that one alongside 44.4 percent from 3-point range. It wasn’t perfect, though; NC Central got drilled 18-8 on the offensive glass and coughed up 13 turnovers along the way.

Back on February 24 in the last meeting between these teams, NC Central cruised to an 88-55 home win. The Eagles posted a 46-32 rebounding edge in that one and scored 29 points off 17 Hawks turnovers. This one likely won’t be so lopsided but I still like the Eagles on the cover.
