North Carolina vs The Citadel 12/13/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Citadel Bulldogs and the North Carolina Tar Heels meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Dean Smith Center. The Citadel is 5-4 overall this year. The Bulldogs lost to Charleston in their last game. As for North Carolina, they’re 6-4 overall so far and took out Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Citadel went 3-3 over their first six games this year, recording wins over Presbyterian, Morris College and New Orleans. After consecutive wins over IUPUI and Charleston Southern, the Bulldogs took a loss to Charleston on December 3. 

In the matchup versus Charleston, the Citadel was outpaced 41-27 in the first half. The Bulldogs got better from there but still lost more ground in a 79-57 defeat. Madison Durr was the leading team scorer with 20 points and nine boards. 

Over on the North Carolina side, they won five straight games to kick off the season before their first loss to Iowa State. The Tar Heels lost to Alabama, Indiana and Virginia Tech in their next trio. 

North Carolina finally stopped the skid with a victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Tar Heels were up 39-26 by the break and cruised to a 75-59 win. Both RJ Davis (22 points; 10 rebounds) and Armando Bacot (21 points; 13 rebounds) doubled up. 

PICK: I’ll probably stick with North Carolina. The Tar Heels put up a nice performance against Georgia Tech in their last game, breaking the streak of four straight losses. UNC hit 47.4 percent from the floor in that one with 43 rebounds and 15 team assists. The Tar Heels have hit 69 or more points in all but two games so far this year and should put up a nice total in this one as well. As for the Citadel, they’re coming off an offensive dud against Charleston but overall the Bulldogs have scored pretty well this year. I don’t think they’ll keep the cover pace for the whole game, however.
