The St. Thomas MN Tommies and the North Dakota Fighting Hawks meet Tuesday in college basketball action from the Betty. St. Thomas MN is sitting at 8-19 overall and coming off a loss to South Dakota State. As for North Dakota, they’re currently 6-23 and lost to Oral Roberts in their last game. St. Thomas MN posted a decent 8-7 run over their first 15 games, but they haven’t been able to get a victory since. The Tommies have fallen to Oral Roberts, Kansas City, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota and South Dakota State in their last six.

Matched up against South Dakota State on Saturday, the Tommies were outscored 30-39 in the first half and 39-40 in the second during a 79-60 loss. Tops in scoring was Riley Miller on 27 points with two rebounds.

Over on the North Dakota side, they hit a 4-8 stretch in their first dozen games of the season. The Hawks have only been able to get two wins since then, however. They’ve fallen to Western Illinois, Kansas City and Oral Roberts in the last trio.

On Saturday versus Oral Roberts, the Hawks were down by just two points at halftime. North Dakota was outscored 40-52 from there in an 87-73 loss. Leading scorer Paul Bruns doubled on 17 points with 10 boards and three assists.

The Hawks are 0-8 ATS in the last eight Tuesday games and 4-9 ATS in the last 13 after an ATS loss. The over is 4-0 in North Dakota’s last four at home.

Meanwhile, the Tommies are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 1-11 ATS in their last 12 overall. The under is 5-1 in St. Thomas MN’s last six road games.

PICK: I’m going to stay with North Dakota. Granted, there’s not much to get excited about with this matchup due to the records. Still, we should have a competitive game here. The last time these teams met up back on February 10, North Dakota bagged a 78-70 win at home. The Hawks have been scoring reasonably well since then and shouldn’t have much issue putting up points in this rematch.
