Davidson began their year on a 1-2 run with losses to San Francisco and New Mexico State. Since then it’s been a five-game win streak over Penn, East Carolina, Robert Morris, Charlotte and William & Mary to move to 6-2.
In the William & Mary matchup, Davidson got off to a 35-20 start and cruised to the 70-46 blowout victory. Top scorer Luka Brajkovic finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Hyunjung Lee added 12 points and eight boards.
Over on the Northeastern side, they went 3-2 in their first five games, taking out Boston U, Duquesne and Southern Illinois. Since then it’s been another 3-2 run featuring wins over Detroit, Colgate and UMass.
Back on Tuesday in the UMass matchup, Northeastern posted 41 points in each half on the way to a solid 82-76 win. Shaquille Walters led the team with 16 points and five assists, while Nikola Djogo put up 15 points with eight boards.
The Huskies are 7-2 ATS in their last nine Sunday games and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 at home. Northeastern is 5-2 ATS in the last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 5-0 ATS in the last five overall. Davidson is 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win.Â
PICK: I’m going to try Davidson here. The Wildcats have been playing well during this five-game win streak, posting 70 or more points in each outing. In the win over William & Mary, Davidson shot a solid 45.9 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Tribe 49-29. As for Northeastern, they’ve been playing pretty well over their last couple of games and should provide some healthy competition here. I think Davidson can keep it going and pull off a cover though.Â
