The Queens Royals and the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks meet Sunday in CBI Tournament college basketball action from Ocean Center. Here’s a Northern Arizona vs Queens Prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Northern Arizona vs Queens pick.
Queens Royals Betting Preview
The Royals had a great run going back in January, but outside of that it’s been a pretty choppy season overall. Queens opened the year on a 3-5 run then took wins over VMI, Carolina U, Gardner-Webb, Mercer, Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast, Lipscomb, Austin Peay and Stetson in the next 10 games. A 3-3 run came next with losses to Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida and Jacksonville. The Royals would alternate wins with losses the rest of the way, taking out Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, West Georgia and Florida Gulf Coast alongside losses to Lipscomb, Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, North Alabama and Lipscomb again. In total that gives the Royals a 19-14 overall record through 33 games so far this season.
In the Lipscomb matchup during the ASUN Championship Tournament back on March 6, the Royals scored 33 points in the first half, 34 in the second and eight in overtime on the way to a tough loss 81-75. Leading the team in points was Jaxon Pollard with 17, alongside three rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes off the bench. Tops among starters was Leo Colimerio with 13 points, seven boards and three assists, while Kalib Mathews chipped in 11 points with five rebounds. Yoav Berman had 13 points with two rebounds off the bench as well.
Northern Arizona Lumberjacks Betting Preview
Over on the Northern Arizona side, they started out fairly well themselves then hit a spotty run the rest of the way. The Lumberjacks were sitting at a reasonable 10-5 overall through 15 games in early January. Northern Arizona had losses to Stanford, Eastern Michigan, Oral Roberts, Pepperdine and Idaho State in that time. Losses to Montana, Montana State, Portland State, Northern Colorado, Weber State, Montana, Portland State, Idaho and Northern Colorado piled up over the next 15 outings. Then a win over Idaho State to finish off the regular season and a conference tournament victory over Eastern Washington. After a loss to Montana in the next game, the Lumberjacks were left with an 18-15 record through 33 games so far.
Matched up against Montana on March 9, the Lumberjacks were up by one point going into the second half. Northern Arizona was outscored 44-34 the rest of the way however, resulting in a 74-65 loss in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Trent McLaughlin with 34 points, one rebound and two assists. Diego Campisano added nine points with three rebounds and two steals, while Jayden Jackson put up seven points, four rebounds and three assists. Carson Towt led the rebounding with 13 alongside six points and one assist in 38 minutes of work.

Northern Arizona vs Queens Prediction
I’ll lean toward Queens. The Royals had a pretty rough offensive outing in their latest loss to Lipscomb, notching 40.3 percent shooting from the field. Queens gave up 48.9 percent to the Bisons on the other side, but stayed competitive rebounding (35) and had just eight turnovers. Queens has put up a nice 69 or more points in nine straight games, but they’re just 4-5 in that time and giving up quite a bit of scoring to opposing offenses.
As for Northern Arizona, they faded in the second half against Montana and eventually shot just 38.7 percent from the field, 28 percent (7-of-25) from outside and 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from the line. The Lumberjacks got out-rebounded 37-31 and had just eight team assists in a pretty limp overall outing. That said, Northern Arizona should match up better in this one. They’ll have to get the offense moving though, as the Lumberjacks have scored a tepid 131 combined points in their last two outings combined.
