Northern Colorado vs Sacramento State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/11/23

The Sacramento State Hornets and the Northern Colorado Bears meet Saturday in college basketball action from Bank of Colorado Arena. Sacramento State played Northern Arizona in their last game on Thursday. In that one the Hornets fell by 22 points. As for Northern Colorado, they’re coming off a Thursday matchup versus Portland State. The Bears went on to power out a nine-point victory there. Sacramento State Hornets 

Sacramento State began the season on a sketchy 9-7 run across their first 16 outings. The Hornets went 3-5 over their next eight, losing to Idaho State, Weber STate, Montana State, Eastern Washington and Idaho during that time. 

On Thursday versus Northern Arizona, Sacramento State was drilled 43-22 in the first half. The Hornets scored another 33 points in the second half and lost 77-55. Callum McRae was the team’s top scorer with 11 points and eight rebounds. 

Northern Colorado Bears

Over on the Northern Colorado side, they got off to en even rougher start at 5-11 through 16 games. The Bears hit a 3-5 run in the next eight, losing to Sacramento State, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, Montana and Montana State. 

In the Portland State game on Thursday, the Bears managed a 42-39 edge by the break. Northern Colorado hit a 46-40 advantage in the second half for an 88-79 win. Daylen Kountz was the team’s top scorer with 22 points and seven rebounds.

I’m going to stick with Northern Colorado here. The Bears seem to have moved past their recent three-game losing streak with consecutive wins and 88 points scored in each. Conversely, Sacramento State has lost four straight with 65 or fewer points scored in three of those. The last time these teams met up was back on January 12 in a 72-64 Hornets win. Northern Colorado seems primed for a revenge cover at home here and I think they’ll power it out.
