Northern Colorado vs San Jose State 11/19/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The San Jose State Spartans and the Northern Colorado Bears meet Saturday in college basketball action from Bank of Colorado Arena. San Jose State is fresh off a matchup versus Hofstra. In that one the Spartans took a nine-point loss. As for Northern Colorado, they’re sitting at 1-2 overall after a loss to Baylor in their last game. San Jose State managed to take out Georgia Southern in their 2022-23 opener 63-48, then went on to beat Bethesda 90-68 in game two. Back on Tuesday the Spartans met up with Alabama State and took a 70-57 victory to keep it going. 

In the Hofstra matchup on Thursday, San Jose State was up 41-31 at halftime. The Spartans blew that lead in the second half by allowing 54 points and lost 85-76. Alvaro Cardenas Torre and Tibet Gorener each had 17 points to lead the team.

Over on the Northern Colorado side, they had a rough draw in their first game this year with a matchup against Houston. The Bears lost badly in that one 83-36. Northern Colorado bounced back for a win 80-77 over Texas A&M-Commerce, though. 

In Monday’s matchup, Northern Colorado had another tough opponent in Baylor. The Bears scored just 26 first-half points and lost 95-62. Tops in scoring was Daylen Kountz with 19 points, and Dalton Knecht doubled on 12 points and 11 rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with San Jose State. The Spartans are coming off a rough loss to a good Hofstra team. San Jose State had the Pride down 10 points going into the second half but struggled from there. Still, the Spartans have been pretty solid in their other three matchups so far. 

As for Northern Colorado, it’s tough to know exactly where they stand so far. The Bears have had a couple of very tough matchups out of the gate. That said, I don’t think Northern Colorado will be able to keep up here if San Jose State is playing well.
