Green Bay Phoenix
Green Bay has had a rough year, to put it mildly. The Phoenix’s only wins have come versus IUPUI on December 5 and UMKC on December 10. Green Bay holds an 11-game losing streak, most recently to Robert Morris.
In the Robert Morris game on Saturday, the Phoenix were within two points at the break. Green Bay was destroyed 53-21 in the second half however and lost 72-38. Randy Tucker finished with 11 points and seven rebounds to lead the team.
Northern Kentucky Norse
Over on the Northern Kentucky side, they lost to Kent State, FGCU, TX-Arlington, Toledo, Washington State, FAU and Oakland in their first 16 games. The Norse are 4-1 since then with a lone loss to Milwaukee.
Matched up against Fort Wayne on Saturday, the Norse held a 29-23 edge going into the second half. Northern Kentucky managed a 45-31 run from there and won 74-54. Marques Warrick topped the team on 18 points with five rebounds.
ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll probably stick with Northern Kentucky here. The first time these teams met up back on January 14, the Norse cruised to a 74-53 win without too much difficulty. Northern Kentucky has gone 3-1 since then, scoring 74 or more points in three of those four outings. As for Green Bay, it’s tough to find very many positives about this season; it’s been a rough ride. The Phoenix are capable of some decent points totals here and there, but I don’t think they’ll hang around too long against the Norse.
