The Milwaukee Panthers and the Northern Kentucky Norse meet Saturday in college basketball action from BB&T Arena. Milwaukee is sitting at 3-9 so far. Milwaukee hit a 2-6 run over their first eight games this year, picking up wins over North Dakota and Robert Morris along the way. The Panthers are 1-3 since with losses to Colorado, Rhode Island and Wright State.
In the Wright State game on Thursday, the Panthers had a one-point lead at the break. Milwaukee was outscored 39-33 in the second for an 80-75 loss. DeAndre Gholston was the top scorer on 26 points and six boards.
Over on the Northern Kentucky side, they managed wins in two of their first three games, then hit a four game losing streak. The Norse have been on a 3-2 run since then, taking out Canisius, Alice Lloyd and Green Bay in that time.
Matched up against Green Bay on Thursday, the Norse were down by five at halftime but came back with a 46-36 second in a 79-74 victory. Marques Warrick led the way on 20 points with four rebounds and three assists.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Milwaukee. The Panthers have been pretty shaky over their last half-dozen games with a 2-4 record in that time. That said, Milwaukee has put up a few good offensive outings here and there, scoring 68 or more points in four of their last six. As for Northern Kentucky, they can score pretty well when the matchup is right themselves. They’ve also given up 74 or more points in each of their last three games. If Milwaukee can get off to a good start and stay in rhythm here I think they’ve got a good shot at a cover.
