The Milwaukee Panthers and the Northern Kentucky Norse meet Monday in Horizon League Tournament college basketball action from Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Let’s get into our Milwaukee vs. Northern Kentucky prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Milwaukee Panthers

The Panthers were a shaky 12-13 early last month, but they’ve hit their stride since then. Milwaukee is 7-1 in their last eight games with wins over Cleveland State, Northern Kentucky, Fort Wane, IUPUI, Green Bay (twice) and Detroit. The lone loss came to Youngstown State.

In the Green Bay road rematch on Thursday, the Panthers held a 39-35 edge going into the second half. Milwaukee posted a 56-49 run the rest of the way and powered out the win 95-84 in the end. BJ Freeman was the leading team scorer on his 32 points, eight boards and five assists.

Northern Kentucky Norse

Over on the Northern Kentucky side, they were 11-12 in early February and sitting on a three-game losing streak. The Norse have also played well on a 7-2 run lately. Those wins came versus Oakland, Detroit, Green bay, Cleveland State, IUPUI, Robert Morris and Wright State.

Matched up against Wright State on Thursday, the Norse went into the locker room with a 40-33 deficit. Northern Kentucky fought back to force overtime and eventually took it 99-97 in dramatic fashion. Leading scorer Marques Warrick posted 35 points with two rebounds and three steals in the victory.

ANDREW’S FREE MILWAUKEE VS NORTHERN KENTUCKY PREDICTION

I’ll take a stab on Milwaukee. This should be a pretty good matchup overall, though. The Panthers played well against Green Bay in their latest win—despite hitting a tepid 28.6 percent from 3-point range, that is. Milwaukee shot 52.5 percent from the floor with a 39-35 rebounding edge and just eight turnovers otherwise. That makes 71 or more points in eight straight games (a 7-1 run).

In their last meeting on February 17, the Panthers eked out a 73-72 win at home over the Norse. Milwaukee didn’t shoot great in that one (41.3 percent) and had 17 turnovers but the 43-38 rebounding edge really helped. I like this one to be close as well, with Milwaukee eking out a cover/win in the end.
