Duke got off to a 12-1 stretch this year with a lone loss to Ohio State. After a 2-2 run with losses to Miami and Florida State, the Blue Devils have since rattled off three straight wins over Syracuse, Clemson and Louisville.
In Saturday’s matchup versus Louisville, Duke posted 40 points in the first half and 34 more from there in a nice 74-65 win. Leading the scoring was AJ Griffin with 22 points, and Mark Williams doubled up on 14 points and 11 boards.
Over on the Notre Dame side, they posted a 4-5 run to start the year, falling to Saint Mary’s, Texas A&M, Illinois, Boston College and Indiana. The Irish are on a 10-1 run since then, however. They’ve beaten Howard, Louisville, NC State and Virginia in the last four.
Matched up against Virginia on Saturday, Notre Dame posted a seven-point lead going into halftime. The Irish held on from there in a 69-65 win. Nate Laszewski and Dane Goodwin each notched 16 points, combining for eight rebounds as well.
The Irish are 4-0 ATS in their last four at home and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 Monday games. Notre Dame is 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall.
Meanwhile, the Devils are 5-2 ATS in their last seven as a road favorite and the over is 4-0 in their last four Monday games. The under is 6-2 in Duke’s last eight overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Duke here. We should have a fun matchup on our hands, though. The Blue Devils haven’t had much trouble scoring so far this year. They’ve hit 71 or more points in each of their last seven outings and have kept opponents below 70 in each of the last three.
Notre Dame is no offensive slouch themselves, though; they’ve hit 69 or more in each of the last seven and should be able to stay right with Duke. I like this one to be competitive most of the way, but cover-wise I think the Blue Devils are a better option.
