The Louisville Cardinals and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish meet Saturday in college basketball action from Joyce Center. Louisville is fresh off a Wednesday matchup versus Boston College. In that one the Cardinals lost by 10 points. As for Notre Dame, they’re currently 9-12 after a loss to NC State on Tuesday. Louisville lost their first nine games of the year before taking out Western Kentucky on December 14. The Cardinals would then beat Florida A&M in the next game. Louisville hit a losing streak over the next eight games.
In the matchup versus Boston College on Wednesday, Louisville looked good in the first half with a 35-29 edge. The Cardinals fell behind with a 46-30 second however, and lost 75-65. El Ellis led the team on 17 points with five assists.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Over on the Notre Dame side, they beat Radford, Youngstown State, Southern IN, Lipscomb, Bowling Green, Michigan State, Boston U and Jacksonville over their first 16 games. The Irish are 1-4 since then with a lone win over Georgia Tech.
Matched up against NC State on Tuesday, the Irish went into the break up 42-39. Notre Dame was outscored 46-40 in the second half and lost a tough one 85-82. Cormac Ryan scored 19 points and Marcus Hammond doubled on 11 points and 10 rebounds.

I’ll probably stick with Notre Dame. There’s not a ton of intrigue involved in this game regardless, though; both teams are struggling right now. In any case, Notre Dame has lost four straight outings, but the good news is that they’re still scoring well with 71 or more in each of those. Louisville is pretty generous to opposing defenses, so Notre Dame should have an open door to another decent total. If the Irish can hit 75 points or so I think they’ll be fine cover-wise.
