Cleveland State lost their first two games of the year to BYU and Ohio. Since then it’s been a six-game win streak, however. The Vikings have taken out Edinboro, Canisius, Coppin State, Penn State-Behrend, Northern KY and Wright State in that stretch.
In the Wright State game, the Vikings got off to a solid 45-33 lead at the break and were able to hang on for the 85-75 win. Leading scorer Jayson Woodrich put up 17 points with four boards, and D’Moi Hodge added 14 points in 24 minutes.
Over on the Oklahoma State side, they went 1-1 in their first pair this year. The Cowboys hit a win streak over Prairie View, UMass Lowell, NC State, Charleston and Oral Roberts, then lost to Wichita State and Xavier.Â
In last Sunday’s loss to Xavier, the Cowboys had a four-point lead at the break but were outscored 42-32 from there in a 77-71 defeat. Avery Anderson was the top scorer on 26 points with five rebounds and three assists.
The Cowboys are 4-1 ATS in their last five Monday games and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 after a straight-up loss. The under is 7-0 in OK State’s last seven Monday games.Â
Meanwhile, the Vikings are 5-1 ATS in their last six Monday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win. Cleveland State is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games.Â
PICK: I’m going to try Cleveland State in this one. The Vikings have been on a solid run over their last six games, scoring 72 or more points in five of them. Cleveland State shot a nice 55.2 precent from the floor in their last game, and also had 34 rebounds with 22 team assists.Â
As for Oklahoma State, they’ve had a couple of rough games against very good opponents in their last pair but overall they’re scoring well also. This should be an interesting matchup, and I think the Vikings can get in there on a cover.
