The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Houston Cougars meet in college basketball action from the Dickies Arena on Saturday night.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys come into this game on the heels of a 98-93 OT win over Cleveland State last time out. Avery Anderson III leads the Cowboys in scoring with 12.9 PPG while Bryce Williams has 11.4 PPG and 3.6 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for Oklahoma State so far this season. Kalib Boone has 9.5 PPG and Bryce Thompson’s got 9.4 PPG while Isaac Likekele has 6.6 PPG with team-highs of 5.7 RPG and 3.7 APG to lead the Cowboys in rebounding and assists this season. As a team, Oklahoma State is averaging 76.3 PPG on 46.6% shooting from the field, 29.7% from three and 65.5% from the foul line while allowing 65.9 PPG on 38.9% shooting from the field and 31.8% from three this season.

The Houston Cougars will look to add to a 71-56 win over Louisiana in their last game. Marcus Sasser leads the Cougars in scoring with 18.4 PPG while Kyler Edwards has 12.3 PPG with 5.8 RPG and Tramon Mark and Fabian White Jr. each have 10+ PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Houston so far this season. J’Wan Roberts leads the Cougars in rebounding with 7.7 RPG while Jamal Shead has a team-high 5.1 APG to lead Houston in the assist department this season. As a team, Houston is averaging 80 PPG on 47.8% shooting from the field, 35.7% from three and 66% from the foul line while allowing 56.4 PPG on 36.9% shooting from the field and 29.2% from three this season.

Oklahoma State is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 neutral site games. Houston is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a win while the under is 21-8 in their last 29 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I get the allure of points with Oklahoma State here, but the reality is that the Cowboys struggled to put away Cleveland State and you could argue that the wrong team won that game as Cleveland State may have been the better team there. With that said, Houston’s rock solid defensively and while you could say that this is too many points between two high-profile teams, the Cougars haven’t had any issues putting away big teams this season and I think this is no different. Give me Houston by double-digits.
