Oklahoma State vs Iowa State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/21/23

The Iowa State Cyclones and the Oklahoma State Cowboys meet Saturday in college basketball action from Gallagher-Iba Arena. Iowa State is 14-3 overall this year. The Cyclones beat Texas in their last game. As for Oklahoma State, they’re currently 10-8 after a win over Oklahoma. Iowa State Cyclones

Iowa State won 12 of their first 14 games this year, losing to only UConn and Iowa. The Cyclones are 2-1 in their last three outings with a loss to Kansas sandwiched between wins over Texas Tech and Texas. 

On Tuesday versus Texas, Iowa State was only up by one point at halftime. The Cyclones hit a 42-32 run in the second for a 78-67 win. Jaren Holmes was the top team scorer on 21 points with three rebounds and two assists. 

Oklahoma State Cowboys 

Over on the Oklahoma State side, they were 9-5 after 14 games with losses to Southern Illinois, UCF, UConn, Virginia Tech and Kansas. The Cowboys are 1-3 since then with losses to Texas, Kansas State and Baylor. 

On Wednesday versus Oklahoma, the Cowboys got back into the win column. Oklahoma State posted a six-point deficit in the first half but came back to win the game 72-56. Bryce Thompson was the leading team scorer on 19 points and nine rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m going to stick with Iowa State. The Cyclones did a nice job against a talented Texas team in their last outing, eventually shooting 44.2 percent from the field with a 32-25 rebounding advantage. Iowa State is 7-1 in their last eight outings, scoring 69 or more points in six of the seven victories. As for Oklahoma State, they put up a nice second half against Oklahoma to get the win, which was a nice bounce-back after a gauntlet of difficult teams. This is going to be another tough one for the Cowboys, though. I don’t think they’ll quite keep the cover/win pace.
