The Furman Paladins and Old Dominion Monarchs meet Friday in college basketball action at the TD Arena. The Furman Paladins look for their third win. The Old Dominion Monarchs look to get a game above a .500 record.

The Furman Paladins are allowing 37 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 38.3 rebounds per game.

The Old Dominion Monarchs are averaging 71.5 points on 41.8 percent shooting and allowing 67.3 points on 40.7 percent shooting. Ben Stanley is averaging 17.3 points and 3.7 rebounds, while Tyreek Scott-Grayson is averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds. Mekhi Long is the third double-digit scorer and Chaunce Jenkins is dishing 2 assists. The Old Dominion Monarchs are shooting 29.5 percent from beyond the arc and 64.4 percent from the free throw line. The Old Dominion Monarchs are allowing 34.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41 rebounds per game.

You can make a case for either of these teams, as they both hung around with respectable programs yesterday. However, the Old Dominion Monarchs have been more impressive through a 4 game sample size, and they took a wonderful Virginia Tech team down to the wire. I don’t put anything past Furman, but ODU has turned my head a bit more up to this point. I’ll side with the Monarchs here.
