The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Ole Miss Rebels meet Wednesday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. Here’s an Ole Miss vs Arkansas prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Ole Miss vs Arkansas pick.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

The Razorbacks opened the season on a 5-1 run with wins over Southern, Central Arkansas, Samford, Winthrop and Jackson State. After a loss to Duke it was four more wins over Louisville, Fresno State, Texas Tech and Queens before falling to Houston. Since then Arkansas has beaten James Madison and Tennessee for an 11-3 overall record in their first 14 outings.

In the Tennessee game on Saturday the Razorbacks held a slim one-point edge going into the second half. Arkansas hit a 49-39 run the rest of the way however, charging to an 86-75 win in the end. The team’s top scorer was Darius Acuff with 29 points, three boards and four assists while Meleek Thomas had 18 points with three rebounds. Malique Ewin chipped in 12 points and six boards as well.

Ole Miss Rebels Betting Preview

Over on the Ole Miss side, they were able to notch wins in each of their first five games this year. The Rebels then hit a losing streak versus Iowa, Utah, Miami and St. John’s, however. Since then it’s been a 3-2 run with wins over Southern Miss, Alabama A&M and Alcorn State mixed with losses to NC State and Oklahoma. That gives the Rebels an 8-6 overall record this season.

In the Oklahoma matchup on Saturday the Rebels entered the second half with a two-point deficit. Ole Miss was outscored 43-29 the rest of the way however, leading to an 86-70 loss in the end. Patton Pinkins led the way with 25 points and three boards while Malik Dia had 17 points with six rebounds. Ilias Kamardine chipped in nine points with five rebounds in the losing effort.

Ole Miss vs Arkansas Prediction

I’ll lean toward Arkansas. The Razorbacks got past a pretty good Tennessee team in their latest outing at Bud Walton Arena last weekend, shooting 42.4 percent from the field and a nice 87.9 percent (29-of-33) from the line. Arkansas did get outmuscled on the boards 33-29 however, and coughed up 14 turnovers along the way. The Razorbacks are scoring great during this current 6-1 stretch, posting 82 or more points in each one of those outings.

As for Ole Miss, they shot just 37.7 percent from the field with a 37-27 rebounding deficit and a 36-18 disadvantage on points in the paint in their latest loss to Oklahoma. The Rebels gave up 51.7 percent shooting on the other side as well. Ole Miss is just 1-2 in their last three games, but they’ve hit 70 or more points in four of the last five outings (a 3-2 run).
