The Rider Broncs and the Ole Miss Rebels meet in college basketball action from the Oxford Pavilion on Tuesday night.

The Rider Broncs will look to bounce back from a 65-58 loss to South Carolina in their last game. Dwight Murray Jr. leads Rider in scoring and assists with 15.9 PPG and 3.2 APG while Dimencio Vaughn has 11.9 PPG and 6.9 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for the Broncs so far this season. Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson has a team-high 8.3 RPG as well for Rider this season. As a team, Rider is averaging 67.6 PPG on 38.1% shooting from the field, 28.1% from three and 74.5% from the foul line while allowing 70.9 PPG on 40.7% shooting from the field and 34.4% from three this season.

The Ole Miss Rebels will be out to add to a 73-58 win over Mississippi Valley State last time out. Jarkel Joiner leads the Rebels in scoring with 15 PPG along with 3.2 APG while Jaemyn Brakefield has 10.2 PPG with 4.3 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Ole Miss up to this point in the year. Nysier Brooks has 8.8 PPG and 6.7 RPG and Austin Crowley’s got 4.3 APG as well to lead the Rebels in the assist department this season. As a team, Ole Miss is averaging 74 PPG on 46.6% shooting from the field, 35.1% from three and 65.2% from the foul line while allowing 63.5 PPG on 39.9% shooting from the field and 32.1% from three this season.

Rider is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 Tuesday games while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 road games. Ole Miss is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games while the under is 10-1-2 in their last 13 home games against a team with a losing road record.

I’ll be the first to admit, that I’m not overly high on Rider this season as I just don’t think they have what it takes to succeed in even the MAAC. However, I’m not laying points with Ole Miss after that pathetic performance against Mississippi Valley State. A 16-point win normally isn’t pathetic, but when you’re laying 41.5 against a doormat of a basketball team, a team of Ole Miss’ caliber should win that one by at least 50. Rider has held their own in these larger spread situations this season and I think they’lre worth a look with the points here as I still hold a grudge against Ole Miss here.
