The Temple Owls and the Ole Miss Rebels meet in college basketball action from the Black Pavilion at Ole Miss on Saturday.
The Temple Owls will look to rebound from a 77-57 loss to Penn in their last game. Khalif Battle leads Temple in scoring with 19.4 PPG along with 3.2 RPG while Damian Dunn has 15 PPG with 3.5 RPG as well this season. Jamille Reynolds has 11.1 PPG with a team-high 6.3 RPG to lead the Owls on the glass, also capping off the scoring in double figures for the Owls up to this point in the year. Hysier Miller also has a team-high 4.3 APG to lead the Owls in assist department this season. As a team, Temple is averaging 70.1 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field, 34.9% from three and 74.1% from the foul line this season.
The Ole Miss Rebels will look to bounce back from a 72-61 loss to UCF in their last game. Temple is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600 and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games against a team with a winning home record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Ole Miss is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 8-1 in their last 9 games following an ATS loss.
I get the case to be made for Ole Miss at home here, but the problem I have with the Rebels is that they’ve had issues covering against the better teams that they’ve faced this season. Losing Jamille Reynolds hurts for Temple, but this is still a deep Owls team that can hang around with the better teams especially on the road. Not a game I’m rushing to bet, but I’d back Temple with the points in a lean.
