Oregon State vs UC Davis 12/14/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The UC Davis Aggies and the Oregon State Beavers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Gill Coliseum. UC Davis is sitting at 4-3 on the year. The Aggies beat California Merced in their last outing. As for the Beavers, they’re 1-8 so far and coming off a loss to Penn State. UC Davis started out the year with wins over Utah State and Eastern Washington, then fell to Pepperdine, Sac State and Academy of Art U. Since then it’s been two wins over Pacific and California Merced for the Aggies. 

In the matchup versus California Merced, UC Davis didn’t have much trouble. The Aggies jumped out to a 42-18 lead and cruised to the 81-40 victory. Christian Anigwe led the way on 14 points, five rebounds and two assists. 

Over on the Oregon State side, the last time they saw a W was the opener versus Portland State. Since then it’s been losses to Iowa State, Tulsa, Samford, Princeton, Wake Forest, Penn State, Cal and Arizona. 

Oregon State kept a modest pace initially versus Arizona with a 44-36 halftime deficit. The Beavers couldn’t get any closer in an eventual 90-65 loss. Jarod Lucas put up 17 points with five boards and two assists to lead the way. 

The Beavers are 1-8 ATS in the last nine overall and 2-8 ATS in the last 10 Tuesday games. The over is 5-1 in Oregon State’s last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Aggies are 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 road games and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 after a straight-up win. The under is 5-2-1 in UC Davis’ last eight overall. 

PICK: I’m going to try Oregon State here. Probably staying away, though. The Beavers have been really close in a few games so far this year, but haven’t been able to close out strong for the win. The scoring’s been down lately for Oregon State as well; they’ve hit 65 or fewer in each of their last three amid some tough matchups. 

UC Davis will be a more comparable team for Oregon State to go up against, so I think they’ll look a little better. If the Beavers get off to a good start I can see them covering here.
