Lehigh Falls To Cornell

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks started their year by losing to Cornell by a final score of 84-78. Tyler Whitney-Sidney led the way with 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting with a pair of threes and a pair of steals while Dominic Parolin added 16 points on 7 of 15 shooting with 8 rebounds. Jalin Sinclair added 13 points along with a team-high 5 assists to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Lehigh in the losing effort. Bube Momah added 6 points with a team-high 10 rebounds and a pair of steals while Keith Higgins Jr. added 8 points with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals as well in the defeat. As a team, Lehigh shot 45.3% from the field, 24.1% from three and 81.3% from the foul line in the loss.

Penn State Dominates Delaware State

The Penn State Nittany Lions come into this one looking to build on their 79-45 beatdown win over Delaware State last time out. Kanye Clary led the way with 22 points on 7 of 11 shooting with 7 rebounds while Jameel Brown added 20 points on 7 of 9 shooting with 6 threes. Zach Hicks added 12 points with 4 threes to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Penn State in the winning effort. Qudus Wahab added a team-high 13 rebounds while Ace Baldwin Jr. chipped in a team-high 5 assists and 4 steals. As a team, Penn State shot 49.1% from the field, 37.5% from three and 61.9% from the foul line in the win.

I’m rolling with the Nittany Lions here. I’ve learned from experience that sometimes Penn State can’t be overly reliable to cover big numbers, but the Nittany Lions fall into the same profile as Cornell, as the Nittany Lions can shoot from outside really well, I just think Penn State plays better defense. All in all, I think this ends up being a well-rounded effort from Penn State, and I just don’t think Lehigh is able to keep pace here. Give me the Nittany Lions at home here.
