Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin hit a 7-3 run over their first 10 games this year during a decent start. The Badgers lost to only Tennessee, Providence and Arizona in that time. Since then it’s been wins over Jacksonville State, Chicago State, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State and Northwestern.

In the Northwestern game on Saturday, the Badgers were up 32-25 going into the second half. Wisconsin hit a 39-38 edge from there to secure the victory 71-63. Max Klesmit led the team in scoring with 24 points and two assists, while AJ Storr chipped in 14 points and five boards.

Penn State Nittany Lions

Over on the Nittany Lions’ side, they opened the year on a 5-6 run with losses to Texas A&M, Butler, VCU, Bucknell, Maryland and Georgia Tech. It’s been a 3-3 stretch since then with wins over Le Moyne, Rider and Michigan mixed with losses to Michigan State, Northwestern and Purdue.

Matched up against Purdue on Saturday, the Lions were drilled 56-36 in the first half. Penn State got a little better from there on a 42-39 advantage but still lost fairly significantly 95-78. Nick Kern led the way off the bench with his 18 points, four rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes.

ANDREW’S FREE WISCONSIN VS PENN STATE PREDICTION

I’ll stay with Wisconsin. The Badgers are playing quite well these days and coming off a nice performance versus a good Northwestern team. Wisconsin shot 50 percent from the field and from 3-point range (7-of-14) in that one, along with 31 rebounds and 13 team assists. The Badgers have now scored 69 or more points in 11 straight games, so the offense is working great.

As for Penn State, they’re doing well on the scoreboard themselves with 72 or more points in three straight games. The Nittany Lions have given up 73 or more points in four straight however, so there should be plenty of room for Wisconsin to stretch their legs offensively.

Andrew's Free Pick: Wisconsin Badgers -7
