Pepperdine vs George Washington 12/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The George Washington Colonials and the Pepperdine Waves meet Friday in college basketball action from Stan Sheriff Center. George Washington is currently 6-5 and coming off a loss to Washington State. As for Pepperdine, they’re 6 -6 after a loss to Hawaii on Thursday. George Washington has managed wins over Virginia State, Howard, MD Eastern Shore, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Coppin State so far. The losses have come to Hofstra, UC San Diego, Radford, American and Washington State. 

Matched up against The Cougars on Thursday, the Colonials went into the break down 29-27. George Washington ultimately couldn’t close the gap and lost a tough one 66-64. Brendan Adams led the team with 17 points and three rebounds.

Over on the Pepperdine side, they’ve beaten Rice, Alabama State, Vanguard, UC Irvine, Northern Arizona and Cal State LA. The losses have been to CSU Fullerton, UCLA, Nevada, UCSB, Grand Canyon and Hawaii. 

In Thursday’s matchup versus Hawaii, the Waves were trailing by the break 38-24. Pepperdine posted a 46-38 run from there but couldn’t catch up in a 76-70 loss. Maxwell Lewis led the tam on 23 points with seven rebounds. 

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Pepperdine. The Waves buried themselves with a bad first half during Thursday’s game. Pepperdine has hit 70 points in three straight games however, so they’re not exactly hurting for offense. 

As for George Washington, they shot well overall (49.1 percent) in the Washington State game but hit just 3-of-18 on 3-pointers (16.7 percent) and were out-rebounded 39-26 (13-4 offensive). It was a limp scoring effort and I don’t think the Colonials will bounce back in this one.
