The Robert Morris Colonials and the Fort Wayne Mastodons meet Sunday in college basketball action from Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Robert Morris is currently 11-15 on the year. The Colonials lost to Cleveland State in their last game. As for Fort Wayne, they’re sitting at 15-11 and coming off a loss to Youngstown State on Friday. Robert Morris Colonials
Robert Morris managed an up-and-down 8-10 run over their first 18 games this year. The Colonials are 3-5 in their last eight games however, taking losses to Milwaukee, Detroit, Northern Kentucky, Wright State and Cleveland State.
In the Cleveland State matchup on Friday, the Colonials were within one point at 30-29 by halftime. Robert Morris couldn’t get any closer in the end with a 57-55 loss, however. Enoch Cheeks was tops with 17 points and five assists in the defeat.
Fort Wayne Mastodons
Over on the Fort Wayne side, their year began on a pretty decent 12-6 stretch over 18 games. The Mastodons are just 3-5 in their last eight though. The losses in that time have come to Cleveland State (twice), Northern Kentucky, Detroit and Youngstown State.
Back on Friday versus Youngstown State, the Mastodons took a 31-25 deficit into the locker room. Fort Wayne was outscored 50-47 from there and lost 81-72. Jarred Godfrey was the leading team scorer on 33 points and seven rebounds.

I’m going to stick with Fort Wayne. The Mastodons could use a good showing here; they’ve gone just 1-3 over their last four games and 1-3 in their last four at home. There’s a revenge factor in play here as well; the last time these teams saw each other on December 29, Robert Morris pulled off a 75-70 win at UPMC Events Center. The Colonials are skidding with three straight losses (with 67 points or fewer in each) so this seems like a good opportunity for the Mastodons to bag a win/cover. Should be a pretty good game if both teams play well.
