Pitt Team Preview

The Pitt Panthers come into this one looking to rebound from a 91-58 loss to Wake Forest last time out. Blake Hinson leads the Panthers in scoring with 18.8 PPG along with 5 RPG while Ishmael Leggett has 12.2 PPG with a team-high 5.3 RPG to lead Pitt on the glass this season in addition to 2.2 APG. Carlton Carrington has 12.9 PPG with 5.2 RPG and also a team-high 4.3 APG to lead the Panthers in the assist department up to this point in the year, rounding out the group of double-digit scorers for Pitt so far this season. As a team, Pitt is averaging 75 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 70.1% from the foul line this season.

Virginia Tech vs. Pitt Prediction

I’m on Pitt here. The Panthers are simply the hotter team coming into this game and while Virginia Tech’s coming in off of a big win, it could be a bit of a letdown after demolishing the Cavaliers and if it’s not, it’s not like Virginia Tech’s been the most consistent team. I think Pitt has the better lineup here and being at home I think the Panthers get the job done. Give me Pitt in this one.
