In this article we will formulate a Pittsburgh vs Youngstown State prediction for this College Basketball game on Monday, November 3rd at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Pittsburgh Panthers Betting Preview

The Pittsburgh Panthers were 17-15 (8-12) last year and they finished 9th in the ACC standings. Pittsburgh started the season with a 96-56 win over Radford and followed that up with an 83-68 win over Murray State. The Panthers started the season with a 12-2 record through 14 games, but they lost eight of the next ten games. Pittsburgh finished the regular season by losing four of their last five, before losing to Notre Dame by a score of 55-54 in the ACC Tournament. The Panthers scored 75.9 points per game, which was ranked 121st in the country, while they allowed 70.8 points against per game, which was ranked 142nd.

This year, Pittsburgh has to replace their top two scorers from last year, who accounted for about 32 points and 10 rebounds per game. The Panthers do return Cameron Corhen, who averaged 11.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, and Brandin Cummings, who averaged 6.3 points per game. Pittsburgh fell apart in the middle of last year’s season and they have a lot of work to do to replace some production.

Youngstown State Penguins Betting Preview

The Youngstown State Penguins went 21-13 (13-7) last season and they finished 4th in the Horizon League standings. Youngstown State started the year with an 80-60 win over Chicago State, but lost their second game by a score of 81-47 against Ohio State. The Penguins lost five of their first seven games, but they did win each of the next eight. Youngstown State finished the regular season by winning seven of their last ten games, before picking up wins against PFW and Cleveland State in the Horizon Tournament. The Penguins did lose to Robert Morris by a score of 89-78, which ended their season.

This season, Youngstown State has to replace their top four scorers from last year, which accounted for roughly 49 points per game. The Penguins do return Cris Carroll, who averaged 9.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, and Jason Nelson, who averaged 8.0 points and 2.7 assists per game. Youngstown State had a very good 24-25 season, but they have plenty of question marks coming into this year.

Pittsburgh vs Youngstown State Prediction

Pittsburgh comes into this matchup trying to bounce back from a disappointing 24-25 season, but they did play very well in their first 14 games. Youngstown State had a very successful season last year, but they lost a lot of scoring production. I think both teams could start this game slow and I think it will be lower scoring. Take the under here.
