The Eastern Washington Eagles and the Portland State Vikings meet in college basketball action from Viking Pavilion on Thursday night.

The Eastern Washington Eagles will look to bounce back from a 78-46 loss at the hands of Texas Tech in their last matchup. Steele Venters leads the Eagles in scoring with 17.4 PPG along with 4.1 RPG while Linton Acliese has 14.3 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead the Eagles on the glass. Rylan Bergersen has 12.9 PPG with 5.2 RPG and a team-high 4.2 APG to lead Eastern Washington in the assist department while Angelo Allegri and Ethan Price each have 10.2 PPG and 5 RPG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for EWU so far this season. As a team, Eastern Washington is averaging 76.8 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field, 32.2% form three and 73.8% from the foul line while allowing 73.8 PPG on 41.8% shooting from the field and 29.3% from three this season.

The Portland State Vikings will try to bounce back from an 81-62 loss to Utah State last time out. James Jean-Marie leads the Vikings in scoring and rebounding, with 12.9 PPG and 9.8 RPG while Marlon Ruffin has 12.8 PPG with 3.7 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Portland State so far this season. Khalid Thomas has 8.1 PPG with 1.7 SPG and Ezekiel Alley has a team-high 3.1 APG this season. As a team, Portland State is averaging 69.1 PPG on 39.6% shooting from the field, 25.9% from three and 74.2% from the foul line while allowing 67.5 PPG on 40.7% shooting from the field and 33.3% from three this season.

Eastern Washington is 27-11 ATS in their last 38 games overall and 21-6 ATS in their last 27 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 Thursday games. Portland State is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 Thursday games.

I get the case to be made for Portland State at home in certain spots, but this one doesn’t make sense. Maybe that means someone knows something? But I’m going to operate like I know better and that it’s a bad line. The Vikings have been sliding as of late, losing four straight and six of seven and two wins came against subdivision opponents. I just think the Eagles are the better team here, so give me Eastern Washington and the free point.
